Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. Pike County Criminal History does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain a message sent to us as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server automatically receives basic technical and usage details:
- Page-view times and time spent on pages
- Device type and operating system
- IP address
- Referring website, when available
- Browser name and version
- Pages visited
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help aggregate traffic patterns, such as popular pages and common exit points. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some site features behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Route a submitted search to the selected partner
- Maintain performance and availability
- Diagnose technical failures
- Measure which resources visitors use
- Display advertising that may reflect user interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
Pike County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes routing information for records held by Pike County courts and agencies, the Kentucky State Police repository, and the Kentucky State Police Sex Offender Registry. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor data is not turned into a consumer report or a criminal-record profile about another person.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by that provider's privacy policy, including its retention and sharing rules. We do not control those practices, so review the applicable policy before running a search.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Pike County offices, Kentucky court and agency systems, legal-aid resources, or commercial search providers. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy terms apply. Review them before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to follow activity across websites for targeted advertising.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be available to:
- Analytics vendors measuring use and performance
- Search providers processing a query
- Advertising networks serving content
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, commonly used safeguards protect the information we collect. No internet system can be guaranteed secure, however, and we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from a person under 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
The Kentucky Consumer Data Protection Act, KRS 367.3611 through 367.3629, grants qualifying consumers rights subject to the law's scope and exemptions. The Kentucky Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, governs qualifying requests to public agencies, not data held by this private site. Where applicable, you may:
- Request access to personal information we hold
- Ask that inaccurate data be corrected
